COVID-19: How P&G Is Stepping Up to Be a Force for Good — And You Can, Too

Join us as we step up to help during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In these unprecedented times, we’re concentrating on ways we can help the global relief effort and restore a sense of normalcy for people, families and communities, including you. Here’s a snapshot of what we’re doing to help improve everyday life during the COVID-19 pandemic — and how you can join us.

  • We’re partnering with and supporting more than 200 NGOs, relief agencies and some of the world’s leading relief organizations. Our contributions of product and in-kind support will continue to increase as we work with communities around the world to understand how we can best serve them.

  • Collectively, over 30 P&G brands are donating millions of P&G products in more than 30 countries, with more on the way. These donations help ensure that families who don’t have basic access to the everyday essentials many of us take for granted can have the cleaning, health and hygiene benefits P&G brands provide.

  • We rapidly shifted our production lines to make face masks, face shields and hand sanitizer that we’re distributing to relief organizations, hospitals and health authorities in the U.S. and around the world.

  • We’re sponsoring virtual events that raise awareness and donations. With the world being asked to stay at home, many celebrities, influencers, brands and organizations have collaborated on creative ways to use their platforms to bring a positive message to people around the world and support organizations providing COVID-19 relief. P&G has been a proud sponsor of many large virtual activations at home and around the world, including:
  • The One World: Together at Home concert with Global Citizen

  • The iHeart Living Room Concert for America on FOX

  • Twitch’s Stream Aid 2020

  • BET’s Saving Our Selves Relief Effort

  • COVID Is No Joke livestream comedy event in support of Americares

  • Altísimo Live!

  • And more

  • We’re encouraging social distancing. We launched a social media and fundraising campaign with TikTok star Charli D’Amelio to share the importance of social distancing through #DistanceDancing. To help us share the word and slow the spread, tag @charlidamelio and #DistanceDance in your own video.

  • Braun, Gillette and The Art of Shaving have come to the rescue for men missing their barbers, creating at-home hair-cutting tutorials. The Art of Shaving launched The Art of Shaving at Home, turning their social channels into a virtual barbershop to help teach men the basics of shaving, at-home cuts and grooming maintenance. Gillette is turning to its Gillette Barber Council to address a variety of questions, needs and concerns that men have about their grooming routines — and is sharing consumer polls, questions and tutorials via Instagram. Braun released a series of at-home tutorials with Dan Gregory, Braun’s global barber ambassador.

  • P&G brands are making financial donations to provide relief. For example, the Vicks family of brands is donating to Direct Relief to help provide health workers on the front lines with protective gear, medicines and equipment to treat patients who require critical care. And to help families during the pandemic, Pantene, Bounty, Secret and Always are donating to Feeding America.

  • Tide is offering free laundry service for front-line responders. Tide Loads of Hope powered by Tide Cleaners is providing free laundry and dry cleaning to paramedics, doctors, nurses, hospital and medical staff, medical researchers, police officers, fire fighters and their immediate families. The activation started on March 20 in three U.S. cities: Houston, Indianapolis and Phoenix. Since then, the program has expanded across the country and is now in 25 markets — including Chicago, Cincinnati, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City.

For generations, we’ve united to support consumers and communities through unexpected challenges, providing the brands people count on to take care of their personal health and hygiene and to create healthy homes. Watch the video to learn more about our COVID-19 response.

How You Can Help

If you’re sheltering in place, you may feel like there’s not a lot you can do for others right now — and that’s OK. With some determination and a little creativity, there are lots of ways you can make a difference.

  • Practice social distancing. Staying at home and avoiding large groups of people will slow the spread of the virus and could save someone’s life. Looking for some fun at home? Do a TikTok #DistanceDance and help encourage social distancing — your moves will be a force for good.

  • Check on your neighbors, especially those who are elderly or who have an impaired immune system. Ask if there’s anything they need, and if you’re able, offer to leave needed items on their doorstep.

  • Buy only what you need, so that there are plenty of products on the shelves for everyone who needs them.

  • Consider ways you can show your appreciation for those on the front lines. Where would we be without nurses, doctors, pharmacists, medical staff, cashiers and baggers, bus drivers and so many others? Check if employers are willing to accept pizzas, coffees or other small gestures of appreciation for these workers.

  • Take simple actions on P&G Good Everyday. By scanning a receipt or taking a quick survey, you can support our COVID-19 response efforts — and help us do even more good. Learn more.

  • Donate money to local or national nonprofits if you’re able.

  • Purchase gift cards to support local stores and restaurants. Order takeout from your favorite places and tip a little extra.

  • Give blood. Many blood drives have been cancelled due to the pandemic, creating a critical need in neighborhood blood centers. If you’re able, consider donating and helping save a life.

While life feels uncertain right now, one thing is for sure: We’re in this together — and together we can make this time feel brighter for those around us.
